SERVICE & CHECKIN -- Friendly staff at most levels with good energy & conversation skills.
Early checkin was free & and a very generous late checkout of 2 pm offered, also free.
Satisfactory customer experience with room for improvement on timeliness: checkin speed wasn't as fast as the competition; phone service wasn't efficient & some calls went unanswered.
$25/day Resort fees 🤢, which doesn't include the only important thing: WiFi.
LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- 👍 The decor & vibe felt very welcoming.
Orientation of the lobby was unique, catering to a vintage & intimate atmosphere.
I enjoyed the transitions, especially the regal elevators that zoom up & down (Keycard required) & the toasty-warm halls! chef's kiss
ROOM (guest room) -- 👍 This was a rarer floor plan & a nice change of pace from our 90+ stays this year. It felt familiar, like an apartment-home, with just as much function. Designed with warm colors, relaxing patterns & a well-balanced contemporary aesthetic.
The space was ideal for 1, but sufficient for us as a couple. Storage was skimpy-- travel light if booking this room type.
I loved the minimalist workspace, although the choice of chair was awful: itchy fabric, unsupportive ergonomics, & too noisy -- not ideal if traveling in a group bc of the piercing loud creeks.
Good lighting coverage but their light switch situation is unintuitive, despite the labeling.
BED -- 👍 Impressive attention to detail, from the tech-forward bedside utility (baseboard nightlights, USB-ready outlets) to the headboard textures. There's also a deep-sleep lavender sleep spray provided that actually works!
No corners cut on pillow build or linens either. The mattress was sufficiently supportive, sheets were soft, & the pillows had a nice weighty fill.
Absolutely delightful.
BATH -- 👍 A smaller, cozy, washroom.
They compromise heavily on sink space so there wasn't much room for our personal toiletries.
Very enjoyable shower experience for a streamline design. The traction was misaligned on the door so it didn't seal, but the water pressure was amazing. Designer (Thisworks) bath products were also pre stocked.
The bath robes had a nice texture & heavy weight which perfectly matched the climate.
TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 A ~WUMBO~ wall-mounted 60" 4K LG smart TV featuring the status quo Marriott TV solution.
These displays are beautiful & the quality is picture perfect! Apps are disabled but select streaming integrations are enabled (Netflix, etc) along with basic programming.
A lot of hotels execute poorly on TV installations but Portland has been impressive. This is one of the rare moments where a fixed mount makes sense. The ports aren't accessible sadly.
WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 Lobby is a dead zone⚠️. Higher floors will be invaluable for general cell service or to hotspot & avoid the overpriced WiFi.
$4.99 standard & $9.99 premium Marriott tiers.
Standard provides up to ~25 Mbps throughput, while the premium delivers 32-44 Mbps.
This should really be covered by the resort fees (as is the norm...), bc It's not robust as a standalone offering & feels predatory considering how poor reception can be on lower levels.
Disappointed to say the least.

FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 NOT DoorDash friendly⚠️.
Ordering room service was a hassle. It took a few attempts to even reach the restaurant by phone and then to get the correct orders.
In the end, we weren't impressed by the food:
There were some nice flavors in the risotto. It was just too dry to enjoy & did not taste as if it were cooked-to-order.
Seafood was undercooked. Again, the seasoning was stellar, but their chefs seem inexperienced.
Not worth the effort, on top of the high price tag.
There's also a mini market downstairs for misc. food items.
Small mini fridge & a refreshing coffee bar in room with Ice machines on the floor.
NOISE -- 👎 Rooms next to the stairs are not ideal. The housekeeping staff are also disruptively loud & don't seem to know the patterns. Big room for improvement on training.
The fridge condenser was painfully Noisy, as you'll hear in the video.
RECOMMENDATION
These were some of the better accommodations that Portland has to offer, but there's a gap or lack of experience in managing the end-to-end customer experience.
The restaurant is lagging behind on quality & the customer service has room for improvement. Phone service in particular needs more emphasis as it's a chore to ride up & down 15 floors for trivial asks.
I don't think their full potential was on display & I'd love to review this one again, but lukewarm recommendation for now.
