*To maximize your staycation experience, avoid booking Sunday and/or Monday when the restaurant & room service are unavailable!
Check-in & Service -- Awkward & congested check-in area (it'd be productive to move this process deeper into the lobby area instead of entrance). Check-in was slow but the staff are professional, friendly, and very stylish. Often busy with guests and through-traffic so calling from the room isn't always a success.
Great "elevator music" (90's hip hop) thoughtout.
Elevator touchscreen interface is "janky"; easy to hit the wrong number due to poor UI & unintuitive ordering of floor numbers. Visibly dirty & dusty; not cleaned often enough to feel comfortable using this over traditional buttons.
But a fast set of 4 elevators with plenty of standing room.
Laundry & dry cleaning services are available.
Room -- Excellent choice of wall art.
Cozy modular couch with USB Ports in the base--unexpected but amazing texture-- comfortable, buoyant, wide, fun.
Dark blue gradient carpet creates an interesting mood & feels great to walk on but it was visibly stained in the lighter areas.
The phone wasn't programmed so none of the labeled buttons worked. I could receive calls from the front desk but the only outgoing contact I could make was to the valet...
Solid bed: large dense pillows, king mattress, fresh linens, sturdy frame + headboard, standard duvet.
Various windows views depending on the room, equipped with an electronic shade system. The windows can also be manually opened for some fresh air!
Modern AC system with LED display.
Umbrella, hairdryer, & safe provided in the armoire.
Noise isolation seemed great between rooms & the cleaning staff want too noisy. Loud sounds from the exterior environment still leak in-- bring noise canceling headphones if this bothers you.
Bath -- Opted for the Accessible shower/tub combination instead of the walk-in shower.
Great depth and decent shower hose. Excellent water pressure.
Extra soft robes.
Polished nickel sink handles look and feel great to use.
Porcelain tile with a textured finish that feels natural on the foot.
The ventilation isn't great & lacks a manual exhaust or fan in the room, so mind your hot showers or crack the window.
Eco friendly toilet & soft TP.
TV -- A+ TV setup; roomnet service with ALL apps installed -- netflix, Hulu, appletv, peacock, etc!
No complaints despite the inflexible wall mount.
Wi-Fi -- just "ok".
The free plan was not as performant as advertised (these things never are).
I experienced double digit latency with bandwidth upwards of 8.9Mbps up & down.
Food -- Not DoorDash delivery friendly despite what the app says ☹️.
Minibar is not all-inclusive, but it's a very diverse selection for any craving or mood you can imagine (wine, spirits, intimacy kit, vegan snacks, traditional junk food) albeit overpriced.
Fancy *Espresso* maker coffee bar primed for use. Restaurant was not available during my stay.
Location -- A mixed-bag of dynamic city noises that one might expect (sirens, traffic, etc) & swaths of homeless encampments. Those unaccustomed to city-life or the Bay Area will have a hard time adjusting.
RATING & REC
I was excited to try this property but was ultimately disappointed for this price point. It's hard to imagine the premium configurations being much of an improvement. I would not recommend it for a staycation.
