SERVICE -- The checkin experience was aggressively mediocre.
Despite paying for Concierge lounge access, we couldn't get into the room regardless of the times quoted by the representatives or listed on the entrance. It's not a value add anyway, so save your money.
The staff are kind in-person, but phone etiquette was hit or miss a few times.
It took a long (hour) to have towels sent up & this seemed to annoy whoever was on-duty at the time.
We were also promised the opportunity to upgrade to a suite if one became availability, but no one contacted us despite it showing available on the site/app.
ROOM -- Our initial room was the incorrect configuration & the carpet was visibly stained.
The second room wasn't on the floor we booked, bathroom amenities weren't stocked, & the room was dusty (the cleaning cards don't appear to be utilized by the staff anymore).
The balcony & view of the lake was awesome but it's not clear why some have outdoor chairs & others do not (ours didn't).
Fun couch design & decor as well
The phone in our room wasn't charged & a few buttons on the TV remote didn't work, but we worked around it.
TV -- Large smart TV with fair quality, but limited to 5 pre installed apps, luckily 1 is netflix. No swivel or extension on the wall mount for accessibility or for utilizing a chromecast/fire stick.
BED -- The bed was abysmal; it caused my partner and I tremendous back pain. It's overdue for a rotation, flipping, or an upgrade.
BATH -- The robes are fantastic & probably the best bath amenity (if lucky enough to find one).
The tub is adequate for a bath bomb but no frills otherwise.
The shower experience leaves much to be desired + no exhaust fan switch in the bathroom either.
They've chosen an awkwardly "low" toilet installation with a weak flush. At least the toilet paper was a step up from the status quo.
FOOD & DRINK -- DoorDash friendly for food deliveries.
The fridge was spacious & clean, which is often overlooked by many cleaning staff IME.
VERDICT
This is considered one of the best hotels in Dayton, but I regret not trying the (new) AC Hotel instead.
Can not recommend based off this experience which is unfortunate as I wanted to try more rooms.
