SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- Lightning fast early checkin facilitated by a friendly, diverse, & professional staff.
Great aroma and aesthetic in the lobby; I would have spent more time here if the guests didn't stare so profusely, but the environment generally felt safe.
The receptionists were accommodating & empathetic towards our noise complaints.🙏
$12 Self-service parking (uncovered).
Late-checkout offered (2pm).
ROOM (walkthrough) -- A trendy Silicon-Valley-prefab-studio-turned-hotel design. Very spacious & the flooring was a stylish mix of carpet and wood.
Windows are functional and can be opened for fresh air. They deliver a copious amount of natural light too.☀️
The long~~~ work desk has an amazing ergonomic chair, perfect for coding through the night.
Wallpaper, inside & outside the room, has seen better days, but there appeared to be active maintenance (for better or for worse) to update it.
BED -- Hit-or-miss beds (some have loud springy bases), but the sheets were fresh & the pillows were large & dense.
Our duvet was very cozy and comfortable. The top layer blanket wasn't heat retentive nor as cozy.
There were plenty of outlets and ports for charging electronics + overhead reading lights built in to the frame.
BATH -- The sliding door latch is noisy & awkward to close in the middle of the night; It's "fun" & aesthetically pleasing but not ideal if sharing the space with another.
Otherwise, it's a beautiful split-bath featuring a large modern electric mirror & vanity for your beauty routines.
The shower experience was "ok": It's a spacious walk-in "everything shower", providing a mounted caddy & ledge for your personal products.
Water pressure was too weak to leverage the larger shower head patterns & there was rust + pink mold in various places.
Cleaning standards were good everywhere else.
Towels were in great condition + they provide a highly absorbent comfy bathrobe.
39° North bath products are pre-stocked too if needed & they aren't terrible to use.
+1 For the Mansfield toilet with eco friendly flush.♻️
TV -- Huge LG 55" smart TV on swivel base.
Free Netflix & HBO MAX integrations are built in, but we received an error whenever we tried to use the feature. Ports were easily accessible for connecting our own streaming devices.
A pool is available on-site that was very accommodating (Accessible) & always lively.
WI-FI -- Very functional for multiple devices + multi tasking engineering work.
Good QoS for mobile device which is important since cell reception (Verizon) is hit or miss in the rooms.
90-106 Mbps download
21-22 Mbps upload
FOOD & DRINK -- Stocked and fully functional studio kitchen in the room with all the things you might expect in a modern apartment: Stainless steel appliances, stove, dishwasher, sink, etc.
A rotating breakfast buffet with allergy friendly (!) items & a small snack market available downstairs.
Wine dispensers weren't functional during our stay which is a bummer as it's a large part of the local culture. The food service aspect is still very strong despite the kinks -- there's even electronic (rosy the robot) ice delivery!
A concierge service is also available to do your grocery shopping same-day. Since this is a Marriott property, you earn (double) hotel points/miles by using UberEats for the same function, so there's a bit of a clash with the UberEats partnership.
NOISE -- Particularly dreadful: guests upstairs running around, maintenance workers in the hallways; loud kids in the pool outside.
Isolation between rooms seemed good otherwise.
RATING
The service here was the most memorable part, especially after having such a terrible experience at a Hyatt the night before.
I would love to return when the kinks get worked out.
Highly recommend to anyone passing through Healdsburg.
