SERVICE & CHECKIN -- An authentic hospitality & checkin experience.
Joyce specifically was a masterful concierge & a natural talent; truly a rare form when 1 employee can elevate the customer experience single-handedly.
Free early checkin was provided & parking is available.
Housekeeping was aggressive on checkout, so you'll want to be out the door closer to 11:55 (12pm checkout).
Late checkout queue doesn't last long here, so call sooner than later!
LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- The lobby has a clever, eclectic, & luxe vibe, offering some of the most unique amenities, like pinball & arcade machines. As a competitive Street Fighter player, I felt at home 🥲.
Transitions were excellent: their speedy lifts ( keycard required) open to stylish corridors that felt inviting and scenic.
ROOM (walkthrough) -- You can smell the clean!
The building is older so the room sizes are on the smaller side, but they make it work. Lots of detail & nostalgia were packed into this cozy space -- It was just "too" cozy for a couples staycation. I'd book the suite if you're on the fence about space.
No corners cut on seating options or storage dimensions despite the small space. The lighting was superb & they retained functional windows so the air circulation was refreshing.
Room for improvement:
Windows could use a thorough washing, especially for a corner room view 😭; workspace condition & ergonomics could use an overhaul.
BED -- Amazingly comfy King bed that provided seriously satisfying sleep.
Nicely architected on every level: supportive + soft mattress, premium linens, lofty pillows, & an excellent duvet.
BATH -- The weaker part of the room...
"Snug" would be an understatement bc there's not much room to function & the fixtures are proportionally small.
Water pressure was great throughout except for the shower. The shower head pairing does not help the situ & towels are also on the smaller side.
An unsatisfying experience overall.
Pros: bath robe texture was perfect; Renew bath tissue ♻️; Pure by Gloss toiletries
TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- A 50" Samsung HDTV on a premium wall mount with generous lengths of extension, tilt, & rotate.
The Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch with a funky design.
Good AV & good programming!
WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- Good Verizon coverage in this building+area w/consistent 5G speed.
Free wifi (Unencrypted) isn't robust, but it works.
QoS isn't up to par so expect repeated disconnects. No premium offering available.

FOOD & DRINK -- DoorDash friendly-- thx all!
The hotel sponsors a lovely Wine hour that i highly recommend.
Their partner restaurant menu wasn't convenient or allergen-friendly, so we didn't bother with room service. Hopefully the next provenance hotel is better prepared 🤞.
In-room amenities include a medium size mini-fridge, espresso bar, & full-size Microwaves available for delivery to the room!
NOISE -- Soundproofing is strong but it's still downtown, in Portland (motorcycles, sirens, outbursts from the unhomed, etc).
No complaints on the inside environment or wall density.
VERDICT
The customer service won me over from the minute I entered the lobby. It's the intangibles that illuminate how exceptional this hotel can be.
Not my favorite workcation experience, but it's strong in other areas.
I would stay here again to explore the other accommodations & highly recommend it for the hospitality.
