Hilton Grand Vacations Club Paradise, Las Vegas

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 good

Smooth checkin process provided by upbeat & friendly staff; hospitality was exceptional from every employee I encountered.

Tap payment wasn't working, so checkin wasn't as speedy or contactless as it could be, but still a positive experience.

There are (were?) resort fees ($28/night), but early checkin is free & the welcome package includes plenty of vouchers to keep hydrated.

Covered self-parking is also available onsite.

LOBBY & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great

The checkin area was so simple that I thought this would be another underwhelming Hilton.... then the transitions hit. The social spaces are beautiful, calming, & breezy. It's hard not to catch a vibe & more then makes up for the long trek to your room.

Furniture, elevators, & corridors were all well-maintained & exceptionally clean.

ROOM (walkthrough) -- 👍 good

At first glance, it's just a modern L-shape guest room, but the attention to detail here made my day. The towel staging for instance, is something you don't see much of, post-pandemic, so it was a little touch that we appreciated in a big way.

Their tech-forward amenities, like the wireless charging mat & multi-function phone were very convenient. The overhead lighting was also solid & overall turnover was on-point.

As far as comfort goes, the room is spacious enough for an intimate couple, just not functionally optimized for it (YMMV). In that respect, the seating, storage, & tabletop space were adequate.

The window's weren't functional (huge bummer) but provided a nice view of the pool & plenty of natural light.

Cons: lack of ergonomic seating for remote work; no recycling receptacles; air didn't circulate well

BED -- 👍 great

Hilton brands rarely fumble on this unless the property has odd practices.... And this location did not disappoint: fresh high-quality linens, right-sized pillows with sufficient loft, soft supportive king mattress, a study base, & a big fluffy blanket.

The quality of sleep was excellent each night & the bedside charging ports provided a lot of utility.

BATH -- 👎 poor

The bathroom would have to be the weakest part of all the features. It was functional & clean, but small, dated, & poorly ventilated. Water pressure was adequate at least & towels were pleasantly hefty. Crabtree bath products are stocked in the combination shower & there's plenty of toiletries provided to hold you over.

No bathrobe or slippers 💔

TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 ok

Mounted 50" LG HD TV with basic programming.

Ports aren't accessible on this one for connecting a Google TV or HDMI device.

Oh, and the pool was amazing!

WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 ok

Unencrypted complimentary WiFi was adequate for work & general use.

Cell signal was consistently on the lower end.

FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great

The Snack shop located in the lobby has an amazing selection of snacks & drinks. Surprisingly it's not all junk food.

The kitchenette was also impressive given the size of our room. The setup included: a HUGE mini fridge, full size microwave, wet bar, Hamilton beach coffee maker & fully stocked dining-ware-- all clean & ready for use!

NOISE -- 👍 ok

This unit was an adjoining room & the walls proved to be somewhat thin. It's also a family friendly property so large parties or children playing in the halls can be disruptive.

Overall, it's not noisier than similar hotels, but bringing a pair of noise cancelling headphones isn't a bad idea.

LOCATION -- 👍 good

An off-strip property that's even further away from the Vegas crowd.

Driving/ride share is a must so be prepared for the traffic.. A 10m drive will take no less than 30 mins or more during "race car season".

RATING

Price: $164.49/night

Was it worth it: yes

Best part: hospitality I was impressed with how much I enjoyed this stay.

Minus the lack of ergonomics for remote work & the DREADFUL resort fees, it was perfect.

I would definitely return to explore other room configurations & highly recommend this slice of paradise.

5/5⭐️
